Scuderia Toro Rosso had to rethink its intended use of the mass damper system at Budapest this weekend after pre-race scrutineering on Thursday, when Charlie Whiting reiterated his belief that the aerodynamic enhancing device is in fact illegal.
Although at this month's FIA Court of Appeal hearing it was declared that there was little risk of punishment when the FIA review the use of the device after the Hungary GP on 23rd August, the Scuderia Toro Rosso team have decided not to take the risk following Whiting's warning, possibly out of fear that rival teams will protest.
