The FIA has responded to Bernie Ecclestone's commented that the racism in Spain was just a one-off incident. According to the FIA the organisation will take whatever steps necessary to make sure racial abuse will not be seen again at Formula 1 tracks.

A FIA spokesperson told The Guardian: "The FIA has made its position very clear," he said. "We will not tolerate racism of any kind in our sport and we will take whatever steps necessary to ensure that such scenes of racial abuse are never witnessed again."

Spain will host two Grands Prix this season. The Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona and the European Grand Prix will be through the streets of Valencia.
