
Sebastien Bourdais says he feared his chances of landing an F1 drive had gone, but at 29 he is set to line up for his first season at the wheel for Scuderia Toro Rosso.
"After 2005 I thought if I made it into F1 then it would be a big surprise and at the end of 2006 I thought it was all over and so I said so at the time," said the four-time straight Champ Car champion.
"The only real chance I had before was in 2002 with Arrows but that disappeared," he added. "It's tough to have more than one chance because a new generation of drivers comes along and you're lucky if you get another go."
