Räikkönen wary of rivals' pace
10 March 2009Kimi Räikkönen insists that it is still too early to tell which teams have the advantage over their rivals, as the final official pre-season test continues in Barcelona. The Finn completed 80 laps on Monday to finish second on the timesheets, just under sixth tenths of a second down on Nick Heidfeld's time.
"It was a good day, although we couldn't drive a lot, at least not as much as we had planned," the 2007 World Champion explained. "The car seems to react well really well to our setups and to the modifications carried out; it's comforting to know that, because it means we're heading in the right direction.
I know I'm repeating myself here, but I have to say it again: it's still too early to understand where we are compared to the others. We have to wait until Melbourne to have a clear idea." The waiting time continues to decrease, with the start of the season now just over two weeks away.
