The FIA has confirmed that no action will be taken towards the incident involving the Force India of Adrian Sutil and Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari in the German Grand Prix. The Turn 1 contact with the 2007 World Champion ended any hopes of the first points for Force India as Sutil's front wing was damaged in the collision.

Sutil's efforts in qualifying were highlighted on Saturday evening as the German driver, one of five in his home Grand Prix on Sunday, was revealed to be carrying more fuel than the Ferrari drivers despite having qualified ahead of them. As the German left the pits during the race, however, Räikkönen took to the outside at Turn 1 as contact between the pair saw the left front wing end plate broken on the Force India.
Having been examined by FIA stewards after the race, the decision was taken to label the moment as a racing incident and therefore no penalties have been given to either driver. The coming together was not the first between the Finn and the German, as a mistake by the Ferrari driver lost fourth place for Sutil in last year's Monaco Grand Prix.
