'Ferrari line-up the best in F1' - di Montezemolo

Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo is convinced that the Scuderia has the strongest driving pairing as Fernando Alonso joins to partner the recovered Felipe Massa for 2010. The Italian commented on the team's latest line-up at the Ferrari World Finals in Valencia on Sunday.

With Kimi Räikkönen leaving the team and Giancarlo Fisichella stepping down to the role of test driver, Ferrari's line-up of Bahrain 2010 will be completely different to that of Abu Dhabi 2009.

Di Montezemolo is both proud of Ferrari's heritage and excited about the future

"I am very satisfied with this day," di Montezemolo commented at the Ricardo Tormo circuit at the weekend. "We were warmheartedly received by the fans and there were numerous clients, who didn't want to miss this event, coming here from all over the world; things like this make us proud to be part of the Ferrari family, a group of incredible people who build dream cars and who never give up."

The Alonso-Massa pairing marks the uniting of the two men who have battled so fiercely in the past, not least in the 2007 European Grand Prix on a day when a verbal argument followed after the race.

"For me, Felipe and Fernando are the best driver pairing in Formula One," the Chairman continued. "I am convinced that they both will be very motivated and will want to win. I am not worried about having two Latin drivers, which may be for the first time in our history. They both know very well that first of all they are racing for Ferrari and not for themselves."
