Nick Heidfeld is positive over finding a race seat ahead of next season. The German has said he expects to be racing in Formula 1 in 2010 but admits that no contracts are in place yet. 'Quick Nick' does admit, however, that he would love to join Germany's Mercedes in 2010.

Since Mercedes revealed it had purchased the championship-winning Brawn GP team, Heidfeld's nationality soon suggested him as a contender to join as team-mate to Nico Rosberg.
"A contract with Mercedes Grand Prix would be a dream come true but at the moment there isn't a signed contract," Heidfeld told German magazine Bild. "At the moment we're negotiating with several F1 teams and I am confident I can race with a competitive team next year. I will take my time to get the best deal out there."
With the struggling BMW Sauber team, Heidfeld finished 13th in the 2009 Drivers' Championship.
