On another sunny day of testing Pizzonia managed a healthy 53 laps to clock a 1m17.996s fastest lap. His Jaguar team mate, Mark Webber, could only manage six laps of running - the new Cosworth 90-degree V10 engine refusing to run reliably.
Luca Badoer clocked the second fastest time in his Ferrari as he continued tyre testing. He notched up the highest mileage of the day with 83 laps.
[photo2]Toyota's Cristiano da Matta was not far behind Badoer - the Brazilian's fastest lap may have been almost two seconds slower than the Italian, and a second slower than team mate Panis, but he completed 76 laps. Olivier Panis managed just 37 laps using the new Toyota engine, but his day was cut short with a gearbox problem.
Anthony Davidson was the only other driver in action. Despite a problem with the Honda engine in the morning part of the session, Davidson got back on track to complete a total of 77 laps.
Testing continues on Thursday.
