Schumacher sees threat from Alonso

Michael Schumacher believes that Fernando Alonso could be a serious championship contender this season after the Spaniard finished third to the German in this weekend's Australian Grand Prix.
"I think Fernando is in the perfect position really," Schumacher said. "He has a strong car and they are very quick, very consistent."
"He's also alridhg as a driver," Schumacher joked.
Alonso revealed that he expects his Renault car to get much stronger and that he didn't anticipate being on the Australian podium. The team have a number of improvements coming to their new engine, beginning with the first European Grand Prix of the season in Imola.
