Should F1 ban refuelling?

No Fuel?

Why doesn't the FIA simply ban refuelling? If fuel strategy was pulled-out of the Formula One equation, wouldn't the sport revert to the exhilarating 'pre-pitstop' days of Alain Prost vs. Ayrton Senna?

"I don't agree," said Max Mosley in a news conference at Monaco. "You're thinking of an era when people had reliability problems - brake problems, tyre problems. The engineers all say those days are in the past."

Mosley thinks modern F1 is lacking in race-excitement for a different reason. "It's nothing to do with stops," he said. "It's to do with the fact that the car in front is faster than the car behind - after all, he qualified faster!

"And teams are spending a lot of money on reliability these days."
