21 June 2004

Microsoft is lining-up to be Toyota's principal F1 sponsor. Germany's 'Bild am Sonntag' newspaper reported on Sunday that the company's chairman Bill Gates is willing to spend $40 million a year on the new deal. Bild also connected Sony with the Cologne-based team.

Toyota's Olivier Panis, meanwhile, celebrated his 150th grand prix with four points at Indianapolis but he insisted the target was now 'for 200 races. "I want to beat [Jean Alesi's] mark," said the Frenchman of his retired countryman who notched up 200 Grand Prix' at the US race here three years ago.
