The McLaren Mercedes Team's Formula One drivers David Coulthard and Alexander Wurz will be the guests of the West Honda Pons MotoGP team at the Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno on this coming Sunday (25th August).
For both drivers it will be a return trip to the Brno circuit to watch their two-wheel counterparts Alex Barros and Loris Capirossi compete in the tenth round of the new MotoGP World Championship. Last year both Coulthard and Wurz enjoyed their visit to the Czech Republic Grand Prix where Capirossi finished third in the 500cc race.
"We had a great time and it was an experience just being a race fan for the day," recalled Coulthard. "I enjoyed the atmosphere of the paddock which was very open and friendly. Many people in the Formula One paddock follow MotoGP and I think there is a great respect between both sports. I admire the riders and the fact you can see so much of them and they appear so unprotected makes you appreciate the speed and what they do."
Thirty-one-year-old Scotsman Coulthard drives in the 14th round of the FIA Formula One World Championship at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium a week on Sunday. The West McLaren Mercedes star made his Formula One debut in 1994 and has won 12 grands prix so far - most recently he took victory in the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix.
Twenty-eight-year-old Austrian Wurz is the third driver for the West McLaren Mercedes team. The former German and Austrian Formula Ford 1600 Champion and Austrian Formula Three Champion made his Formula One debut in 1997.
Coulthard and Wurz will visit the West Honda Pons pit box at Brno for a photo shoot with Barros, Capirossi and General Manager Sito Pons, on Sunday at 9.45am.
