Australian Mark Webber became the fourth driver to be faced with a post-qualifying penalty for the European Grand Prix when he was punished for overtaking under waved yellow flags here Saturday. Jaguar driver Webber set his fastest time in practice on Friday when Felipe Massa had brought out the waved yellow flags after stopping his Sauber out on track in the second session.

In a statement the sport's governing body the FIA stated that Webber had claimed the section of yellow flags was too small to be of significance over the long sector but he was still deemed to have breached the sporting code.

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella, of Sauber, and Minardi pair Zsolt Baumgartner and Gianmaria Bruni will all drop 10 places on the grid from their qualifying position after changing their engines on Friday. Jaguar test driver Bjorn Wirdheim was also penalised for the same mistake as Webber but because he does not take part in the qualifying session he was only handed a reprimand.

German Ralf Schumacher became the first top-three qualifier to drop down the order because of a penalty this season when he set the second fastest time and was docked 10 places after changing an engine at the Monaco Grand Prix.
