Jagaur race to secure future
23 June 2004Jaguar must 'pull something out of the bag' to re-secure the affections of carmaker owner Ford and thereby protect the future of the ailing 'Leaping Cat.' That is the admission of Formula One principal Tony Purnell.
He said the US-founded manufacturer is not complaining about Jaguar's admittedly 'thoroughly disappointing' season so far but equally there are 'no accolades.
''For sure we need to give everyone a lift,'' said the team boss. Purnell insisted Ford has been 'pretty good' about the F1 programme.
''They don't really give me a hard time about results. They're very steady as a company. That's my relationship with them. So, you know, no real complaints.''
