McLaren refugee David Coulthard can forget it if he thinks a BMW-Williams drive is on the cards in '05, engineer and team partner Patrick Head has suggested. The former technical director told the 'Sunday Times' that Coulthard, who started his career in a Grove-built F1 cockpit, is often 'very mediocre.

''We've never been into 'mind-guruing' at Williams,'' said Patrick. Head, who is now more factory-based after handing over to youngster Sam Michael, said Williams also 'has reservations' about whether to keep Ralf Schumacher.

He said Michael's younger brother is often 'outstanding. ''And [there's] times when the performance ... isn't there.''

Aussie Mark Webber is therefore favoured to step out of his Leaping Cat and into a BMW-powered challenger in '05. '' see a guy that's committed,'' he said.
