Formula One cars should wear 'harder tyres.' That's the claim of veteran BMW-Williams engineer Patrick Head. He reckons grip could be replicated with wider, slick tyres - but less soft rubber will be laid on the racing line meaning more overtaking and 'sliding.'
''Traction control has got to go,'' Patrick told The Times. Head added that aerodynamic downforce should also be reduced.
He said the biggest hindrance to progress on the racing-side is a difficulty in team principals finding unanimity. ''They can never agree,'' Patrick noted.
