Small injury for Verstappen

05 July 2004

During a karting practice session in Genk (Belgium) Jos Verstappen got a light injury on his calf. During a fight on the track with another driver both karts touched and Verstappen tumbled up side down through the air.

"This was a nasty accident. I tried to overtake someone with about 50 miles per hour, but he changed his racing line which I didn't expect. I hit him from the back and was launched into the air. Fortunately the other driver didn't have a thing and is the only thing we've damaged my calf," said Verstappen.

After his accident Verstappen visited a doctor as a precautious. His calf was wrapped in and he got the advice to take it easy. But what if a team boss calls him? "Then he'll have to wait," joked Verstappen. "I won't be available to get in a car right but if we'd be talking about the next race I'll be ready!"
