Mark Webber might stay at Jaguar beyond '04. The Aussie hinted as much in 'Auto Action' this week and boss David Pitchforth confirmed he would present a 'sales pitch' to the 27-year-old later in July. "I'm formulating a plan for the future," said the managing director. "I'm hopeful that when I present it to him, he'll include us in his options."

Speculation now converges almost unanimously that Webber is in pole position to take Juan Pablo Montoya or Ralf Schumacher's race seat at BMW-Williams in '05. But Pitchforth believes it will take Mark Webber a 'long time' to find the kind of working relationship he has at Jaguar with another set of racing employers.
Webber admits 'bullet proof' reliability is the biggest concern. He urged the factory at Milton-Keynes to build him a 'Cat that can last the distance "at all circuits, in all conditions, in all temperatures or whatever. "At the moment," he said, "we don't have that."
