B-spec Toyota brings 'expectation' - da Matta
19 July 2004Cristiano da Matta can't wait to race Toyota's 'B spec' car. The Cologne-based F1 team has vowed to race-debut the TF104B at Hockenheimring and Brazilian-born da Matta shook it down at 'Jerez de la Frontera' last week.
''There's great expectation,'' he said. ''Everyone ... hopes things should finally go better.''
But Cristiano warned that when the aero package hits the German circuit on Friday, it'll be the first time it has been run with the re-designed monocoque. ''It shouldn't be a problem,'' da Matta insisted.
''[The bodywork] has run in the wind tunnel and we've done a lot of simulations. I also don't expect it will take us long to get used to the [car] differences. It's always easy to get used to something that's better!''
