Geoff Willis has denied media reports suggesting the sting has gone out of Formula One team BAR's tail after a series of early-season podium appearances. The technical director said 006 has been 'quite consistent' but McLaren threw a sizeable  spanner in the works by making a 'big step' with the 'B spec' car.

And the flop of Canada was BAR-Honda 'getting the set-up wrong. "It was one of those lessons we had to learn in our first year with Michelin," Willis told Autosport. "Since then we've been consistently quick."

At Hockenheim, new developments found the white racer and Jenson Button returned to the podium by driving through the field from thirteenth to finish second. Geoff continued: "It's important we keep making those little developments. We've got to keep the pressure on those around us."
