About five weeks ago Jos Verstappen suffered a collision at a karting track and injured his knee when his kart flipped upside-down. At the time it just seemed like some bruising, but after a while when the pain in his knee did not subside, Verstappen grew concerned. His front and back crosslink has been torn and so today (Wednesday) the Dutchman will be operated on.
Jos is pretty positive about the whole situation though. "Oh well, I'm in good hands. I will be operated by a Belgian surgeon who has a high reputation on these kind of operations. Next week I will begin recuperating already so I will be fit again in no time."
"In the first week I will be walking on crutches, after that my real recovering period will begin. I am really fit so that will help to recover faster. I am sure to be fit in time for next season!
