Trulli to replace Panis at Suzuka?

Jarno Trulli was fired 'out of respect' for the hundreds of staff he represents back at Renault HQ, managing director Flavio Briatore has said. "At Renault, everyone gives a hundred per cent," said the Italian entrepreneur, "and if a driver shows up lazy, he won't have anything to do with us any more."
But the very latest speculation is beginning to harden that Trulli, also Italian, will lurch back onto the grand prix grid in Japan next weekend. After a three-day test to solve a comfort problem at Jerez, Trulli is set to replace retiring French racer Olivier Panis at new team Toyota so that Ricardo Zonta can contest his home Brazilian grand prix.
Asked in Spain if he's going to grace Suzuka's curves, JT replied: "I do not know -- honestly. If the team say 'ok, you can race' then of course I will, as I am ready. (But) I haven't been told yet."
