Da Matta set for Champ Car return

Failed F1 driver Cristiano da Matta may find his way back onto the US-based 'Champ Car' grid in 2005. The Brazilian, who was dumped by Toyota a couple of months ago, won the 2002 CART (Champ Car) championship for Carl Haas' race team. "I've spoken to his agent," Haas revealed, "and I don't think what happened in Formula One had anything to do with Cristiano's talent."

He said he was 'exploring' the possibility of running a 'third' car in the Champ Car series next season for da Matta.

Haas continued: "We would have to find some additional sponsorship ... (so) I can't commit to it today."
