Red Bull could bring back Berger

17 November 2004

Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz may bring compatriot Gerhard Berger back into the F1 fold to help the new Red Bull Formula One team make an impact in its debut season next year. Berger was at the helm of BMW motorsport when the company teamed up with WilliamsF1 back in 2000.

"Gerhard is an expert and his advice would certainly be useful to us," Mateschitz said.

Tony Purnell will continued as team boss of Red Bull - in the same role he held for the Jaguar Racing team. However Berger could make a return.

Berger retired from F1 and his role at BMW Motorsport last year, but did not rule out ever making a return.
