Button, Richards, awarded
20 January 2005Jenson Button and David Richards, combatants in a BAR war last year, have been heralded by the British Racing Drivers' Club. Button, for a sterling (on track) '04 season, took home both the 'Gold Star' and the Richard Seaman Trophy, given to the most successful Briton in an international race category.
Ousted BAR principal Richards, meanwhile, snagged the Colin Chapman award, for a two-decade achievement with his own motor sport company Prodrive.
Meanwhile, at the Birmingham NEC last week, the UK's Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) gave their 'Teamwork Award' to BAR.
