Fear of bankruptcy and illness fuelled Eddie Jordan's decision to sell his grand prix team. The veteran Irishman said the 'risk' of plugging ahead in 2005 had become 'far too great. "I had to sell," he told British tabloid News Of The World.
"Bankruptcy would have been a horrible end and trying to raise the money just to keep going was ... becoming insane."
Jordan, who founded the Northamptonshire-based team in 1991, also revealed that the burden of life at the back of the grid had started to have an impact on his health. He added: "This way, I've been given a dignified exit."
