Jerez Day 1: Ferrari test alone
08 March 2005 / ResultsFerrari kicked off the first test session since the 2005 season kicked off with Marc Gené in action at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in southern Spain. Five more teams are set to join Ferrari at Jerez this week, but for the first day the reigning champions had the track to themselves.
Gené was driving an F2004M, the car Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher raced with in Melbourne. Gené concentraded on tyre testing for Bridgestone and managed a total of 74 laps.
Ferrari are set to wheel out the new F2005 car at Fiorano in Italy this week where test driver Luca Badoer will be working.
Back at Jerez BAR will join the test tomorrow with Anthony Davidson and Enrique Bernoldi, McLaren will be in action with Alex Wurz and Toyota will field Olivier Panis and Ricardo Zonta.
