Column: Back in Holland
29 March 2005I haven't been to Europe in the past month because of the Australian and Malaysian races. Normally I'm never away from home for that long but it was a really great experience.
The next race will be at Sakhir in Bahrain. The track was first used last year and I'm really looking forward to seeing what it's like. There are two very important parts where you have to break really hard and down to first gear. Hopefully it'll suit my driving style.
I learned a lot about the car in Malaysia and since the humidity in Bahrain won't be as high as in Sepang I expect the race to be easier. Bridgestone didn't have their best weekend in Malaysia, but I am sure they will be back soon with a stronger tyre. Bridgestone is a very strong company that won't be beaten after just a weekend where they didn't perform as everyone has come to expect.
Ferrari will bring their new car to Bahrain. I don't know if they'll be able to challenge Renault for victory, but I'm sure they'll take a big step forward with the F2005. The Michelin tyres do well in warm temperatures but when we go to Europe I wonder if they will still be that strong.
