Twenty years ago: Senna's first F1 victory

Today it has been twenty years ago that Formula One legend Ayrton Senna won his first F1 race. The race was in 1985 at the circuit of Estoril. Senna won the race in wet conditions with the Lotus-Renault. Senna started the race from pole position.

The Formula One champion of 1988, 1990 and 1991 not only started the race from pole and won it, he also set the quickest lap time during the race at 1.44.121. Later that same season Senna also won the Belgian Grand Prix. The Brazilian finished the season in fourth in the championship with 38 points.

This weekend the Grand Prix of San Marino will be held where the legendary Senna has lost his life on May 1st 1994.
