Richards - 'I may be back'

02 June 2005

Contrary to recent speculation, David Richards has no immediate plan to race back to the F1 pitwall. The former BAR boss, ousted for 2005 despite steering the Brackley team to second in the championship and having a year to run on his contract, said his mind is now focused on Le Mans and World Rally projects.

"If Formula One fits into the future, so be it," he told Reuters. "It's not one of those burning ambitions that says I've got to be back there."

Richards, head of the Prodrive empire, has not attended a single grand prix this year and reckons he hasn't paid 'a great deal of attention' to BAR's immeasurably disappointing fortune. "In the right circumstances, I would consider coming back. But I'm not without things to keep me occupied," the Briton concluded.
