Villeneuve slams Sauber
09 June 2005Jacques Villeneuve has slammed boss Peter Sauber for publicly slating his 'too slow' driving. "It's the kind of comment that can make you really angry," the French Canadian said at a Montreal news conference.
JV, 34 and a former world champion, reckons airing dirty laundry in public shows 'a weakness' in the Swiss camp. He added: "It can have a negative effect on the way you drive, so I'll take it as a joke. It's not constructive and makes us weaker."
Villeneuve says it's the 2005 Sauber that's not up to scratch. "It's not bad to drive," he said, "it's just slow. We're the slowest Michelin team right now and we're not making big changes to the car, so that's definitely not good.
"If the team wants to progress then I am very happy to keep working on the project."
