Sauber hits back at Villeneuve
11 June 2005Like Williams' with BMW, so too is Jacques Villeneuve's relationship - with Sauber - deteriorating beyond repair in Canada. Peter Sauber, often the silent man of F1, refused to back down in a tennis-style war of words with the Canadian.
Villeneuve, 34, let rip after Switzerland's team owner claimed he was driving 'too slowly.' JV implied that the 'C24' car is two seconds per lap too slow.
"We can get one more second from the car," Sauber replied in the Montreal based 'Gazette'. "The other second has to come from Jacques."
