Richards not interested in FIA presidency
09 July 2005Former BAR team boss David Richards says he's not interested in taking over the FIA presidency from Max Mosley amid repeated calls for the incumbent to step aside.
Mosley's current term as President ends in October and he is expected to seek re-election. He's also likely to win given the structure of the FIA presidency election rules.
David Richards name has been mentioned as a possible replacement, but he says he has no interest whatsoever.
"That's one of the most undesirable jobs in motorsport," Richards told reporters at Silverstone on his first time back in the paddock since his final race weekend with BAR Honda in 2004. "I can't imagine that anyone would want to take it on. I've got enormous respect for what Max Mosley has done in that role. It's a job that I would certainly not be after."
