Friesacher set to lose Minardi seat

17 July 2005

Patrick Freisacher looks set to be replaced at next weekend's German Grand Prix because due sponsorship money has not been paid to Minardi, as F1Racing.net exclusively reported a week ago.

Minardi boss Paul Stoddart has since gone on the record and confirmed the situation. Dutchman Robert Doornbos is the favourite to replace Friesacher. Doornbos told F1Racing.net that he had signed a contract of intent with Minardi in preparation.

Zsolt Baumgartner is the other driver mentioned - he drove for Minardi last year and scored one point.
