Kimi puts the pressure on McLaren

29 July 2005

Kimi Raikkonen has put the pressure on his McLaren Mercedes team to provide him with a reliable car with which he can win the championship. The Finn's current deal with McLaren runs until the end of next season, but there are plenty down the pit lane who would happily pay a high price for his services.

"I have a contract for next year and concerning my future after that I don't really know what will happen," Raikkonen was quoted as saying by Autosport. "I haven't yet made up my mind. I may stay with them because I'm happy with everyone at McLaren even if we've had some difficult times."

"We just need to work in a better way to make sure the car is very reliable," Raikkonen added. "The speed of the car is very good so once we get everything else sorted I think I'll be more than happy to stay."
