Formula One goes Rotterdam

On Sunday Minardi drivers Christijan Albers and Robert Doornbos thrilled the fans in Rotterdam with their Formula One demonstration. Over 300,000 fans showed up, although the weather wasn't as good as they would have hoped for.

It was the first time such a Formula One event was organised in The Netherlands. After London and Melbourne the citizens of Rotterdam witnessed the action of Formula One cars through their streets. 

Christijan Albers excited the fans with his demonstration runs and after getting out of the car Albers threw his helmet towards the fans. "This is fantastic! It is great here in Rotterdam, what an event! I really enjoyed myself here and the fans were great!" Albers told F1Racing.net. Robert Doornbos, born in Rotterdam, was just as excited as Albers about the event. "This was really great. A fantastic experience for both myself and the fans."
