A DVD and a PlayStation

A DVD and a PlayStation are helping Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella get to grips with Turkey's brand new grand prix track. After a week with his family in Oviedo (Spain), 24-year-old title leader Alonso slumped into his lounge chair to get to work ahead of his inaugural trip to Istanbul -- by switching on his video console.
"I've been able to do several laps," the Renault driver - who did the same for Shanghai last year - said of the latest F1 PlayStation game. "Of course, the problem is that you end up cutting the chicanes and overtaking in the grass!"
Roman teammate Giancarlo Fisichella, on the other hand, also turned to modern audio-visual aids to teach him about Hermann Tilke's up-and-down, 5.340 km Tuzla layout.
After a rest on his boat in the Mediterranean, he put a Renault-supplied DVD in the player. "It shows some laps in a road car," Fisichella explained, "so I can start to look at the corners, the elevation. That's a good start."
