Massa ready for Ferrari challenge
25 August 2005Felipe Massa came in action for the Scuderia Ferrari at Monza this week. The Brazilian will join the team next year as a racing driver, but was given the opportunity to drive the car in this week of testing at the Italian track. He will finish the season with Sauber, but hopes to get another chance at Ferrari before the end of the season."
"The test went well," he told F1Racing.net. "It was a good opportunity to get used to the car and the team. My lap times were also good. I hope I will have another chance before the end of the season, but I don't know yet. (if I will get this chance)"
Massa doesn't think this test will change his position at Sauber and Michelin for the rest of the season. "Sauber is very happy with me and put a lot of trust in me. I'm sure they'll give me the best car they can and I will do everything I can to finish this season in a positive way. Next year I'm with Ferrari, I think I am ready for it. Of course, there is a lot to learn, but as a driver, I am ready."

The Brazilian driver was not willing to say much about difference between the Michelin (Sauber) and Bridgestone (Ferrari) tyres, but did notice some things in the two packages. "I think Ferrari is faster in the fast corners, but Sauber and Michelin are a bit better on the braking and the slow corners."
Massa will be testing on Friday again, with Sauber.
