Schumacher to decide next year
29 August 2005Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will not make a decision on his future in Formula One until next year at the earliest. Schumacher's current contract with Ferrari runs until the end of the 2006 season, but speculation has been rife over when the German might retire ever since he won his seventh title.
"I don't see any point getting too deep into this now," Schumacher was quoted as saying by Autosport. "I've said very clearly what I'm thinking - I haven't yet made up my mind. I will make up my mind sometime next year and that's it."
Schumacher admits that if he stays in F1 it will be with Ferrari. Schumacher also played down his now notorious meeting with Mercedes motorsport chief Norbert Haug saying it was nothing out of the ordinary and they have met up from time to time over the years.
