Davidson to test Jordan next week

Anthony Davidson will be testing for Jordan on Tuesday 13 September. Davidson was invited to test for the team so Midland can test the British driver for next season. Davidson is in the race for a seat at Midland next season. Jordan team boss Colin Kolles told F1Racing.net earlier Davidson and Albers are on top of his list.

Davidson commented on the Jordan test: "I'm really looking forward to testing with the Jordan team at Silverstone next week and the EJ15 will certainly be an exciting new challenge."

"I haven't driven at Silverstone for almost a year so it will be good to be back driving on my home track again. This test shows how serious I am about finding a race drive for next year and I would like to thank BAR Honda for allowing me to stand down from the team's Barcelona test and take up this opportunity. I'm hoping it will be a very positive experience for myself and the Jordan team." 

Colin Kolles commented about Davidson's test: "Davidson has proved himself to be quick and outstandingly talented in junior Formulae and as an official third driver for BAR Honda. He definitely deserves an opportunity to race in Formula One."

"Jordan Grand Prix is therefore very happy to give him the opportunity to test the Jordan at Silverstone on the 13th September. We're looking forward to working with Anthony during the test and to continuing discussions regarding a longer-term role into Midland's entry into the 2006 Formula One World Championship."
