Albers and Midland is a matter of time

12 September 2005

Christijan Albers has a good chance signing up with Midland F1 for next season. Although the team and Albers' management do not want to confirm the deal yet it is only a matter of time before the team will announce Albers as their 2006 driver.

Both Midland and Albers' manager say a contract has not been signed yet at this moment. "We are still negotiating with the management of Christijan Albers," team boss Colin Kolles told F1Racing.net "It is no secret that I want Christijan Albers in our team, but at the moment there is no signed contract."

The manager of Christijan Albers, Lodewijk Varossieau, commented on the possible move to Midland: "It all looks really well for Christijan at Midland, but I can not go into further details unfortunately. We agreed with Midland that we won't comment on any speculations until the team would make an official announcement."

Midland's second driver for next season could become Anthony Davidson. BAR's current test driver is testing for the team on Tuesday. "We planned a one-day test with Davidson to see what he is capable of."

"If we feel we need to learn more about him we could let him test again. He is a driver we are interested in, but we want to work with him first to see what he can do," explained Kolles.
