Pizzonia hopes for 2006 seat

23 September 2005

Antonio Pizzonia says he might switch to another championship if Williams again overlook him as grand prix racer next year. The Brazilian, ironically filling in for the man who beat him to the 2005 seat - Nick Heidfeld - is probably only second in line after 20-year-old Nico Rosberg in the chase to be Mark Webber's '06 teammate.

Asked what he thought his chances were, 25-year-old Pizzonia said: "I really don't know. "Last year Frank (Williams) told me I had a 95 per cent chance of getting the seat and in the end I didn't get it. It is really difficult to predict what is going to happen."

'Jungle Boy' Pizzonia also revealed that his manager is looking at other teams, but also 'different championships'. He has been linked not only with the US Champ Car series, but the fledgling 'world cup' A1 category.
