Pizzonia confirmed for Japan and China

28 September 2005

Williams today confirmed that Pizzonia will race in the last two Grand Prix' of the 2005 season for the team alongside Mark Webber. Pizzonia, the team's long-standing reserve and test driver, will race instead of Nick Heidfeld who suffered from a fractured shoulder blade.

The Brazilian driver, who competed in the last three Grand Prix' for the team, said, "I am delighted to be racing for another two races, especially after last weekend at my home race when I was the innocent victim of a start line accident. The two tracks in Japan and China are real drivers' circuits and I hope to be able to validate this vote of confidence from the team."

Williams Team Principal, Frank Williams said, "On the strength of his races for the team thus far this season, we know he will serve us well in the next two Grand Prix."
