Montoya blasts Villeneuve for first lap crash

Juan Pablo Montoya blames Jacques Villeneuve for causing his crash on the first lap of the Japanese Grand Prix. Montoya says Villeneuve pushed him wide and onto the grass in the final corner of the lap.

"It's pretty sad you know," Montoya said. "Three cars in front of me missed the chicane - I think Villeneuve was one. He missed the chicane and was really slow accelerating out of it and then he just blocked me and pushed me wider and off the track I had nowhere to go."

Meanwhile Villeneuve told a different story, "I never even saw him so I have no idea what he might have been trying to do when he went off," the 1997 champion said.
