Midland owner calls for rule changes

19 October 2005

Midland team owner Alex Shnaider has called for changes to F1 rules to make it easier for privately owned teams to compete with the large car manufacturers.

"The rules ened to change because it's impossible for a private team to compete with manufacturers," Shnaider said. "The car manufacturers have much greater resources than a private team - no matter how rich its backers are."

Looking ahead to next season when the team will be officially known as Midland Shnaider said, "We're looking forward to the rebranding next year. We want to improve the team and take more steps forward."
