Midland confirms Christijan Albers
01 November 2005 / PhotosDutch driver Christijan Albers will drive for Midland in 2006 and 2007. This was confirmed by both parties at a press conference near Amsterdam this morning. Albers is the first race driver confirmed by the team, which took over Jordan.
Last season Albers drove for Minardi and scored four points, in the dramatic US Grand Prix. In the coming two seasons Albers is aiming for more. Midland has already confirmed its test driver - another Dutchman, Nicky Pastorelli.
With Albers confirmed, the last Midland seat will be a very popular and important one. Takuma Sato, Anthony Davidson, Tiago Monteiro and Narain Karthikeyan are all aiming for it.
