Villeneuve helped Sauber team go forward

02 November 2005

Jacques Villeneuve scored nine points in his 2005 season at Sauber-Petronas. Next season the team will go on as BMW's Formula One team. Villeneuve wasn't to happy about the way the team worked at the start of the season, but he was able to change that.

"The team want young drivers that will just sit in the car, drive and don't talk. The kind of driver that only does what his engineers tell him to do," said Villeneuve. "But I'm not like that!"

Villeneuve explained that his feedback to the team helped the team go forward. "As soon as the team was able to understand that you can't rely on the computer data only I was able to be in front of my teammate more often. Especially in the second half of the season," said the Canadian.
