Double F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen will stay in Germany's DTM championship for the 2006 season after agreeing a new deal with Mercedes. Hakkinen won his two F1 titles at the wheel of a McLaren Mercedes.
"DTM is the best touring car series in the world," Hakkinen said.
The Finn came out of retirement to compete in the 2005 DTM championship and finished fifth overall.
