No deadline for Rossi says Ferrari boss

20 November 2005

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has denied reports they have given Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi until June 2006 to decide if he will make the switch to F1. In the meantime Rossi continues to have an increasing number of tests in the Ferrari F1 car.

"Maybe there's already been too much said about him regarding this issue," Montezemolo told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'm certain that a person who has been so successful on motorbikes will know what to do."

"In the meantime we're glad we've been able to give him the chance to test and enjoy himself and it's been good for him to see how much attention to detail there is in F1," Montezemolo added. "Switching to four wheels is a decision he needs to take without any pressure. Valentino knows that if he decides to come to f1 it is because he knows he can win here too."
