Barcelona Day 5: Davidson fastest

Honda test driver Anthony Davidson set the pace on the fifth day of testing this week at Barcelona. The day was affected by persistent rain and only three drivers bothered setting timed laps.

Toyota and McLaren decided to pack their bags and leave early to avoid the rain leaving Honda and Renault to chance it in the wet conditions. Driving the 2005 BAR with a V10 engine Davidson set the pace after 48 laps in 1m25.542s. Team mate Jenson Button was second, over five seconds behind at the wheel of a V8 powered car.

Giancarlo Fisichella was the only other driver in action, at the wheel of a Renault with limited V10 engine on board. He completed 44 laps and finished less than 0.1s off Button's best lap.
